  3. "Intentional Objects for Non-Humans"

one listeners will already be prepared to grant subjectivity to beings such as flowers and grains of dust mind. There are no objects for empiricism. What about materialists They might seem to be the most object-friendly philosophy. The correlationist thinks that there is no human without world nor world without human but only or rapport between the two. Hence the object has no autonomy for the correlationist. In franker terms does not exist. For the empiricist there is also no object since there are only bundles of discrete qualities

  4. A formal distributional semantics for cognitively-plausible reference acts

standard formal apparatus is however difficult to transfer to a realistic and cognitively-plausible speaker Reference -- the ability to talk *about* things -- is one of the most fundamental functions of language themselves. The first general part of the talk will address 'speaker-dependent semantics'. In the second part part I will describe the models we've been building to learn distributional representations of entities

  7. On the ecological impact of prehistoric hunter-gatherers in Europe: Early Holocene (Mesolithic) and Last Interglacial (Neanderthal) foragers compared

evidence of human impact on landscapes dating back to the Late Pleistocene long before the advent of agriculture hunter-gatherers remains a major research challenge. We address this challenge by comparing climate-based potential vegetation patterns in Europe during these periods. To explore this issue we used an upgraded version of agent-based model ABM combined with a genetic algorithm to generate vegetation change scenarios. By comparing outputs with pollen-based reconstructions we aimed to identify parameter values that yield HUMLAND results

The performance Baldéric Gazagne Anthony Ravassa This study aimed to investigate how different characteristics of head-up in action video games. HUDs are a very common way to display contextual information. However very few experienced players was particularly affected in this case. In contrast the results did not show that altering semantic characteristics that were less relevant to the game s main task would affect players performance

  9. Spatial and temporal patterns of upland vegetation over the last 200 years in the northern pyrenees: Example from the Bassiès valley, Ariège, France

However such estimates are difficult to obtain from pollen data due to their lack of spatial dimension and was then used to reconstruct the 200-year history of local land-cover dynamics at 10 to 20-year intervals each site in relation to land-abandonment. Our study shows that in addition to allowing long-term reconstruction are more sensitive to vegetation composition changes over time and space compared to historical land-cover diversity.
